Board members vote to recommend the purchase of Maple Ridge Elementary School; Shubenacadie District School to remain open
This evening the members of the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board voted in favour of recommending that the Department of Education Early Childhood Development purchase Maple Ridge Elementary School, a P3 facility, from the private owner. Members also voted to keep Shubenacadie District Elementary open.
“On behalf of the governing board I would like to extend our sincere thanks to the members of the East Hants School Options Committee, for their dedication and hard work over the last five months, and to all those who contributed their time, voices and passion to this process” said Trudy Thompson, CCRSB Board Chair. “The governing board made this decision with the best interests of all students in mind.”
The Chignecto-Central Regional School Board is comprised of 17 board members and 2,700 staff all striving to develop independent, lifelong learners in a student-centered environment, with high expectations for all. CCRSB serves close to 20,000 students from Primary to Grade 12, throughout the counties of Colchester, Cumberland and Pictou, as well as the Municipality of East Hants.
