We know that navigating the many supports available to you and your family during the school years can be overwhelming. Parent Navigators have built strong relationships with community agencies throughout the region and have developed a deep understanding of the tools and resources out there for families.
The role of the Parent Navigator is to help CCRCE parents and guardians find and access services and unknown resources such as:
- rent subsidies to secure housing
- GST rebates
- Disability Support Program & Disability Tax Credits (actually helping with all the paperwork and supporting setting up doctor’s appointments with parents)
- legal support
- heating rebates
- referrals to parent supports such as transition housing, supporting with mental health calls, connecting to food bank and delivering foods for parents/families with school aged children.
They can help you find the support that you or your child may need to achieve success, inside and outside of school. They will help guide and connect you with the most appropriate services and resources.
